Scottish Food Fest

Scottish Food
“more than you imagine”

A word from our Patron George Reid

Scottish Foode Fest Patron George Reid

When I was growing up as a wee boy in Clackmannanshire during the war years, the menu had two choices - take it or leave it.

We ate well, though, because a lot of the food was grown in our own gardens or by local farmers. But it was basic fodder - food for energy not for pleasure.

How times change! The land and seas of Scotland provide a vast larder of some of the world's very best produce, right on our doorsteps.

Food Fest in Alva, which closes Scottish Food Fortnight, is guaranteed to get you salivating. Top chefs, from around the world as well as from home, will show how our fish, meat and vegetables can be turned into quite sensational dishes.

Come and taste Scotland for yourselves in our wonderful Cochrane Park, nestling under the Ochil Hills. Enjoy the music and the entertainment, see the children have fun, sample the fare, enjoy a free tipple, maybe take a gentle stroll up Alva Glen, go home replete and happy. And be glad that you have helped, through your contribution, to provide employment and training for local people with learning difficulties.

Clackmannanshire may be the Wee County, but we have big ambitions. As our local slogan says, we offer much more than you may imagine.
