Scottish Food Fest

To be held on Sunday 21st September 2008

A feast of food awaits you at this year's Scottish Food Fest, held at Alva's Cochrane Park. Chefs from premier Scottish restaurants are on hand to show us the secrets of some of their signature dishes, using Scottish ingredients.

What'll be happening?

Outside in the Park, Central FM will offer their Roadshow, broadcasting to Forth Valley direct from downtown Alva. There will be stalls show-casing all Scotland's Larder has to offer. There are activites for the kids so you can enjoy the wonders of all on offer and know they are being entertained also!

There will be free prize draws where you can win a hamper and other treats being show-cased on the day.

A word from our Patron George Reid

When I was growing up as a wee boy in Clackmannanshire during the war years, the menu had two choices - take it or leave it.

We ate well, though, because a lot of the food was grown in our own gardens or by local farmers. But it was basic fodder - food for energy not for pleasure.
